Hey!
I had a lot of problems to play the game on Win7 and have tried many solutions. Finally I Installed the Game under the Windows XP SP 2 configuration. Not the 'game.exe'... the 'setup.exe'.
Right Click on the setup.exe, go on settings, compatibility and choose Win XP SP 2.
I had to change anything to the game file. Until now the game runs without problems.

What I'd like to know is why GOG is selling games that aren't or haven't been made compatible with later operating systems, without the end user having to make tweaks in order to make a game playable!
Thought that was part of the deal when you purchased games through GOG!

There's an infinite variety of hardware/driver/os/software/... combinations out there. Nobody can - in this standardsless environment - make a bit of software work for everybody.

GOG sells tons of games that aren't and haven't been made compatible. If you get any of the older DOS games, which I have plenty and tested, you will find that GOG has gone to great length to make their games as compatible as possible. They have preconfigured DOS Box games. Without that, they wouldn't run at all unless you configured it all yourself. This isn't on GOG. And more so in their defense, I have the actual disc copies of the game. When installed on my own, I had to do tons of configurations to get it to work semi-well on my current rig. The base installed version from GOG works almost flawlessly.

W7 64-bit here and all KOTOR2 versions worked out of the box for me, be it 4-CD, Steam or this GOG.
So it's not as easy as 'Windows 7', there are other reasons why it's not working for people...

Just because you have Windows 7 and you have a problem, does not mean that the game does not work for all Windows 7 users. If you wanted to help work the problem, you might compare what other things your rig has in common with the other users who have this problem.

For KOTOR 1 all I had to do was remove the intro's and I was good to go. Ok, suppose that's not 'out of the box' then though.
Well, the statement was made that this game (these games?) where not viable for W7. An often-heard complained, which is then spread as 'fact' while the cause is somewhere else entirely.
Aaaaaand... now I note I misread your post, point still states.
